Business of the House

Illegal offroad bikes cause regular and unnecessary nuisance to residents across Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare, and other parts of the country. South Wales police are constantly trying to deal with residents’ concerns, but the situation persists and is widespread. The Crime and Policing Act 2026 will provide the police with additional tools, but can we have a debate or statement to outline what further steps the Government can take to help tackle this issue, which is causing such nuisance to my co

Fuel Costs: Support for Motorists

Even before the current conflict in the middle east, fuel suppliers in the Merthyr Tydfil part of my constituency were charging an average of 10p per litre more than those in other parts of my constituency and neighbouring towns. Even London fuel prices were cheaper than they were in Merthyr Tydfil, and the situation has not improved since. I have written to suppliers and met some, with limited success, and I have asked the Competition and Markets Authority to look at the matter, which it has so

Can the Secretary of State update the House on the steps that the Government are taking to ensure that in future nobody gets trapped in a cycle of poverty, whether in my constituency of Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare or across the country?

Defence Jobs: Wales

I welcome and fully endorse the Minister’s comments about the benefits of two Labour Governments working together for the people of Wales. In the 19th century, ironworks in my constituency made cannons and cannonballs for the Royal Navy; in the 21st century, skilled workers and businesses in Merthyr Tydfil and Aberdare, such as General Dynamics, are ready to continue our area’s role in enhancing the nation’s defences. I seek an assurance from the Minister that businesses in the supply chain acro
