View on X ↗Brass band, pipe band and I met this lad from Paw Patrol. Another brilliant Poltonhall and Bonnyrigg Gala.
Introducing Midlothian’s Disabled Children’s Forum. If your family needs support for a child or young person with ASN please be in touch.
R to @kirstyjmcneill: If you want to know more about why clubs matter so much there is a short introduction here in the @CoopParty’s Community Britain collection. https://party.coop/2025/03/19/club-are-the-answer-to-our-connection-crisis/
R to @kirstyjmcneill: I could talk about clubs all day. If you want to help save these magical places, please join the @CoopParty campaign I helped found. Life is better when we club together. https://party.coop/campaign/community/clubs
Of course @AndyBurnhamGM’s HQ is in a club (and this one is a cracker). The important thing about clubs isn’t just that we belong to them. It’s that they belong *to us*.
🐍 Big up all the gala day committees and volunteers across Midlothian ☀️
R to @kirstyjmcneill: You can learn more about James Stagg and all we have cause to thank him for here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/culture/article/20260528-the-crucial-decision-that-helped-win-d-day
Today, on the anniversary of #DDay, I am remembering with awe the heroism and raw courage of those who took part and of the skill of Midlothian’s own James Stagg whose weather predictions made the decisive difference.
R to @kirstyjmcneill: Midlothian’s online safety submission is available to read here. https://kirstymcneill.com/news/midlothians-online-safety-submission/
So many Midlothian people were in touch with me about children’s safety online. This week I submitted your collective thoughts to ministers @SciTechgovuk - I was particularly grateful to the children who were so wise during the sessions I did in local primary schools. 💻💡
Our always-on advice service means you can ask about whatever you need, whenever you need. If we can help we will and if we can’t we will try to point you in the right direction.

“I’ve got you.” @ScottishMR’s annual report fills my heart every year. Last year 850 *volunteers* risked everything to rescue strangers. People are extraordinary.
Being interviewed by @edinburghpaper about the campaign against the bus cuts. I think Lothian Buses think we will give up. No danger.
Huge congratulations to everyone who finished the Edinburgh marathon today - so moving seeing people powering on through the pain to support so many good causes. ❤️👏🏃🏼♀️🏅
Gala season is here - brilliant job from team Danderhall today. Thanks to all the volunteers quietly making the world go round.
Pinned: Scots disagree about all sorts of questions. We don’t become less Scottish when we do.
Lovely to pop into Parent Pause last week - a friendly drop-in for local parents who need a breather and a chat.
Congratulations to Midlothian’s MSPs. Being from different political traditions can’t and won’t stop us working together for the people we have the honour of serving.
Every @ScottishLabour candidate did our movement proud. Activists - community campaigners, co-operators and trade unionists - came together as so often before to take the case for change to every corner of the country we love. Tonight we sleep, tomorrow we make the case anew ❤️🌹
