It has been a difficult few days, but I will always pride myself in staying true to my Labour values. 🌹 My thoughts on the current situation.

.@DurhamCouncil my team spoke to housing dept as a distraught person rang my office, homeless, sleeping in disabled loo. DCC team refused to even acknowledge they’re supporting them. We don’t want all the details, just assurance they’re on system. This isn’t helpful in a crisis.

Ah the X/Twitter cesspit of misinformation continues in my absence. By all means, post negatively about me, but at least get your facts right. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Fibbers. 🤥 To be clear, if improvements aren’t made to the bill at committee stage, I’ll be considering my vote very carefully.

Thanks official @TUIUK to your team for calling my office. I haven’t used X for ages now due to the cesspit it became and it’s disappointing to see accounts trying to dupe people by impersonating holiday operators - I see nothing has changed on here 🙄. Until next time. ☮️

Today, the UC & PIP Bill returns to the House of Commons for the third reading. I’ve made my opposition to this legislation being railroaded through clear from the outset. Continues 👇🏻

One of the many reasons I took time off this platform. The lack of fact checking by people who comment, accusing me of things that actually aren’t true. It’s exhausting combatting it. Well it was ‘fun’ for a day. Think I’ll head off again for a while. Toodles.

Just finishing off after a long, hard, frustrating and emotional day. It’s never easy voting against your own Government, but I simply couldn’t support the UC and PIP Bill, even with the concessions offered. Back tomorrow bright and early for another busy day! 🍌 #TakingThePIP

I don’t tweet a great deal anymore, but felt the need as I’m Incredibly proud of my friend @RachaelMaskell for delivering a beautifully compelling, emotive and honest speech relating to her reasoned amendment to the UC and PIP Bill in the chamber just now.

Hi @edfenergy I've heard from a disabled constituent who has had no hot water for a week, despite engineer visits and promises to get parts to repair boiler it remains unresolved. She has had no contact from you today. Can you sort ASAP? I emailed you earlier, please acknowledge.

An absolute pleasure to stop off in Bearpark yesterday for the new banner celebration event. Anyone in County Durham will understand the importance of the banners to the pit villages, this gorgeous one will hopefully grace the city streets with it’s presence on the second Saturday in July when we celebrate the 139th Durham Miners Gala.
