R to @MarieRimmer: The Pride in St Helens programme will bring £20 million of investment into several neighbourhoods in the borough over the 10 years. If you're passionate about St Helens, committed to bringing people together, and want to make a real difference, I'd encourage you to apply. [2/3]
📢 Community leader needed for Pride in St Helens! We're now looking for an independent Neighbourhood Chair to help lead this exciting project, bringing together residents, businesses and community organisations to shape the future of these neighbourhoods. [1/3]
I have joined colleagues in calling on the Foreign Secretary to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements. Settler attacks and expansion continue to force people from their land. The Israeli Government has made clear this are intended to block a peaceful two-state solution.
Applications are now open for the £10.5 million Crisis and Resilience Fund, helping people with the cost of energy, food and water bills. If you're struggling financially, support may be available. Find out more and apply:https://www.sthelens.gov.uk/article/14868/Crisis-and-Resilience-Fund
Breakfast clubs make a real difference to children and families, if your school runs a great breakfast club, I'd encourage you to apply for the Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Awards 2026 and celebrate the impact you're making. Please find below a statement on the death of Henry Nowak:
I’ve received confirmation from the Government that new solar panels have been installed at Sutton Academy through Great British Energy’s solar scheme. The school will save around £1 million over the lifetime of the panels, money that can go back into the school's facilities.
My team and I are continuing to work hard for people across St Helens South & Whiston. Here’s a look at the cases we’ve been helping people with in May '26. Need assistance? 📞 01744 752075 📧 marie.rimmer.mp@parliament.uk
This is deeply saddening news, my prayers are with John's loved ones.
R to @MarieRimmer: When we dismiss hatred by denying or minimising it, whether that be Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia or other forms of prejudice, we risk allowing it to grow at a time when mosques, synagogues and LGBTQ+ safe spaces are being regularly targeted for attack. [4/5]
R to @MarieRimmer: Dismissal leads to hatred, hatred leads to violence, and violence leads to death. We cannot stand idly by while that happens. [5/5]
R to @MarieRimmer: We are asking the Commission to consider whether Reform UK may have breached its obligations under the Equality Act to not incite discrimination. This is an Act that Reform says it wants to abolish. [2/5]
R to @MarieRimmer: Yesterday, responding to this letter, Reform's Lee Anderson MP claimed that “there is no such thing as Islamophobia” and that it is “a made-up word”. That deeply concerns me. [3/5]
I have joined Afzal Khan MP and Parliamentary colleagues in writing to the Equality and Human Rights Commission to call for a formal investigation into Islamophobia within Reform UK. [1/5]
R to @MarieRimmer: • A real terms freeze on pub bills for the following two years. • New permanently lower multipliers for eligible retail, hospitality and leisure properties. • A high value multiplier on the top 1% of most expensive properties. [3/3]
R to @MarieRimmer: Measures include: • A support package of £4.3 billion to protect ratepayers against large overnight bill hikes. • Cap on bill increases at 15% or less in 26/27 for most properties. • A 1 year 15% relief for all pubs and live music venues in 26/27. [2/3]
Earlier this year, I wrote to Government on behalf of local pubs on business rates. Pubs have been under pressure in recent years, and they must recieve support from Westminister. The response I recieved from the Treasury confirms the rollout of a support package. [1/3]
R to @MarieRimmer: The response from Government confirms that endometriosis has been made a priority condition in the renewed Women’s Health Strategy, with commitments to speed up diagnosis and improve access to treatment. [2/4]
R to @MarieRimmer: There is still much more to do, but I welcome these steps to improve care, cut waiting times and ensure women are listened to and treated with the seriousness they deserve. [4/4]
R to @MarieRimmer: Measures include: • Faster diagnosis and new care pathways for endometriosis • New guidance to improve referrals/treatment through the NHS and GPs • Additional investment in menstrual health education • Approval of new treatment options for severe endometriosis [3/4]
Recently, I wrote to the Government on behalf of constituents living with endometriosis. Too many women face long delays to diagnosis, have their pain dismissed, and struggle to access the care they need. [1/4]
It was a real pleasure on Sunday to join the community in celebrating Parish Church becoming St Helens Minster. I want to congratulate Rachel and everyone involved in this wonderful achievement. The Minster has long been at the heart of our community.
I welcome Wednesday's Government’s decision to maintain the 5p fuel duty cut and freeze fuel duty again. For most of us, fuel is essential, not a luxary. Keeping fuel duty frozen will help ease pressure on household budgets and support working people.
Today we remember the 22 lives lost in the Manchester Arena attack 9 years ago today, and all those affected by it. We will never forget them.
Summer is about enjoying the outdoors. That is why I welcome the Government’s announcement, including cheaper family days out, reduced costs for children’s meals, and free bus travel for under-16s this August. Kids should be outdoors, not stuck inside staring at a screen.
The Government is tackling migration, with net migration 82% lower than the tory peak. Compared to last year: ✈️ Immigration: down 20% 🚪 Emigration: down 6% 🛂 Asylum applications: down 12% 🚓 Returns & deportations: up 7% 🚤 Q1 Small boat arrivals: down 40%
Criminal gangs have exploited our high streets for years, through illegal shops linked to money laundering and organised crime. I welcome the Government’s new £30m crackdown, with more officers and tougher crackdowns. Our high streets should serve local people, not criminals.
I am proud to back this motion. We must deliver the Hillsborough law immediately, with no compromises.
